1. Download the latest version of Audacity
2. In order to export MP3 files, download LAME MP3 encoder for Audacity
3. Run Audacity and locate the MP3 file you want to edit.
Select File -> Open and open the MP3 file you would like to make into a ringtone.
4. Making an MP3 ringtone.
Play the file to understand what portion you want to use as a ringtone and highlight it using the Selection tool.
5. Select Edit and then Trim to leave only the 15-30 sec clip.
6. To save the ringtone, open the File menu and then select the Export As MP3... option. If you run the program first time, you will be asked to locate the saved dll.
Then type in a name and click the Save button.
Now you can transfer your newly created ringtone to your cell phone.
